Tamiron Honeybee Spoons Are Awesome!

The picture above is of a smattering of the offerings from Tamiron Sporting Goods. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the lures on the upper portion use a different name (the one I grew up with). Don't be confused, these are all the same offerings, President Jim Martino is still making them and now resides in Granger, Indiana. How do I know this? Interestingly enough, I reached out to Tamiron (an anagram of Martino) via email this morning and Jim took it upon himself to call me personally to answer my questions directly! I recognize this isn't Bill Gates calling me to discuss the merits of Windows10, but it was a unique and enlightening experience that I'll not soon forget.

Jim was extremely gracious answering my myriad questions, specific to new sizes, colors and larger/faster trolling options for mid to late summer fishing for King Salmon. In the past I had stopped using Honeybee spoons because they didn't perform at the higher speeds Kings require as the summer waters reach their optimal temperature ranges. One small tip, which I'll keep until I have Jim's permission to share, along with news of a new spoon coming later this year that will be more durable and slightly heavier, will have me using Honeybee spoons for the duration of the season! Some of the largest Brown Trout I have caught on Lake Ontario have come on Honeybee spoons, in particular the small blue/white Honeybee and the large chartreuse/white Honeybee. In fact, some of the greatest successes I had on Kings early in the season came on the large Honeybee in chartreuse/white, green/white and green speckled/white in late May and early June.

Tamiron Sporting Goods can be found at www.tamiron.com, tamironsales@gmail.com and you can likely get Jim directly at 574-217-7610. And, no, I'm not being paid or sponsored in any way for this blog, I just wanted to share a great bit of customer service I experienced directly while seeking to outfit my boat. Give them a look, they catch fish, and are becoming much more diverse and effective with new offerings coming soon! Viva la Tamiron!
